Lets get Baking

Image
Alright mate, howdy hey ya and hello to all of you. This may come as a big old shock or to those closer to me, its yesterdays new’s but bare with any how. Over the last year i have started to develop a taste of baking. Yes thats right baking, i make a good old cake. No i do not wear a apron.  I can see all your minds now, picturing me with a mid 1960’s housewife hair due, with the ultra retro pink and baby blue apron that has ‘Kiss the Chef’ embezzled on the front with varies kiss patterns across the hem of it. Standing by a window that over looks a garden as my two children play while i clutch a deep plastic basin to my chest that is a garish yellow in colour. In my other hand i have a giant wooden spoon which doubles as a weapon if the kids get out of line. I am staring happily out the garden window as i manually mix my sultana loaf with my hand with a fist of fury.  Suddenly i stop, look up and anger sweeps across my face. ‘Christ almighty, Tommy get the hell out of th...

You Know what Really Bugs Me: Socialising Edition

Image
There is nothing i enjoy more then going out with friends and socialising. Whether this is catching up over a bite to eat, or hitting the tiles with a couple of drinks, I'm all for it.  Given my nature it is undoubtedly that i will take note of the awkward and plan annoyances that can come up around these events.  So here we go, a list of ‘You know what really bugs me’ Socialising edition.  Softly blow drying your hands Your enjoying a last minute catch up with a best mate. Your having a whale of a time, gossiping about those mutual friends that no one really likes. You excuse yourself to quickly pop to the bathroom to do your business and intend on returning before the starters arrive. You wash your handles carefully as to not spread germs as your a careful mother fucker. The soap is cheap and therefore you will be smelling it for days off as it never seems to wash off. You turn, catch sight of the hand dryer, your heart stops. Its one of those non br...

Good Place for a Camp, My Childhood.

Every now and then, its inevitable to frequent a article stating if you can related to half of the content you know you're a 90’s kid etc. Well in honesty i relate to a few items but never the entire thing, maybe that means my childhood was incredibly rare and the stuff me and my friends got up too is complete freakish and alien compared to the rest of our generation. Lets find out shall we as i delve into my own little version of ‘You know you had a similar childhood thing as me, if these things happened to you also in some way or other, during the 90s and 00’s and all that.’ High warning some of these maybe incredibly Irish.  Everywhere was a ideal location for a Camp Me and my friends where obsessed with the ideal of creating the dream camp. Walking along a alley way, through a ditch, dirty back end gardens cornered off for being a little bit dangerous, one of us would turn to the other and go ‘ this would be the ideal location of a camp'. This would draw up the won...

Hit the bid button

Image
Its time for a confession.  Over the last few months, i have developed a new addiction. It comes in  many shapes and forms. Its slowly getting worse.  Online shopping.  To be more specific, rummaging through eBay for good deals.  I’ve gotten pretty good at it too.  I am selective in what tickles my fancy, more then anything it appears i have developed a unquenchable taste for random vintage wonders.  I do not tend to go for the norm either, no sheets and curtain rails for me, oh no i like it random, used, old and a mystery to what the purpose of it is. One thing i have learned more of late is that you should always read the fine print. Oh yes, get your glasses on and inspect those minuscule fonts at the bottom of the page, miles away from the ever alluring BID button.  Lets talk pit falls.  I have gotten to great gems from eBay, my favourite all time being in the chair I'm a sitting on as i write this message. It also happ...

Going Nowhere Fast

Unless You have been actively living under a rock or in a cave, it has been a pretty traumatic month weather wise this side of the world.  You cannot go on Facebook these days without a flooding status being on your feed.  Coming from Cork lads, i guess we are all used to this sort of thing as the city has been flooding all our lives.  This weather truly has been taking the piss, the extreme winds, turbo rain and frosty mornings, will have you believing your living inside the polar vortex. Did you know with the sudden decrease in temperature that there is a 37 precent rise in male perky nipples? There are guys walking around looking like Madonna striking a Vogue. Just saying.  Besides, cutting electricity effecting peoples holidays and literally ruining peoples lively hoods up and down the UK & Ireland, the weather has also effected our transport in the very city that seems lest effected. London. Thats right people, the folk at home have to canoe to get to a ATM...
